Nine schools compete in Youth in Business 2014 [1]

The Youth in Business Challenge 2014 has begun in Nuku’alofa after nine schools were awarded seed capital to start their businesses.
The competitors, who include seven secondary schools and two tertiary institutes, are now running their businesses.
Final business reports on their progress will be presented to a judging panel of four people before the winning teams in both categories are announced on October 10 in an awards ceremony.
Initiated by the Tonga Chamber of Commerce, the program aimed to give students the opportunity to learn how to run a business, develop a spirit of entrepreneurship and business practical knowledge.
Seed capital awarded to secondary schools this year were
- Tupou College, $1,250
- Tonga High School, $1,200
- Liahona High School, $1,150
- Vava’u High School, $1,100
- Tailulu College, Tongatapu, $1,050
- Beulah College $1,000
- Tailulu College, Vava’u, $1,000
- Tupou Tertiary Insitute, $1,700
- ‘Unuaki ‘o Tonga Royal Institute, $1,600
