Nobles to close 2014 parliamentary session [1]

Three nobles will close the final session of Legislative Assembly of Tonga on Thursday, 11 September before the Tonga General Election in November.

The early closing this year is to allow candidates time to run in the election on November 27.

The ceremony will be a soft closing without any fanfare. It will start at 10:00am at the Parliament House.

The names of the three nobles have not been confirmed at this stage but one of them will read out King Tupou VI’s closing address,  the Parliament's office confirmed today.
