Tongan wisdom in Aotearoa [1]

A week promoting the Tongan Language is currently being held in New Zealand,from 1-7 September.
The “Tonga Language Week” was launched on Monday 1 August by New Zealand’s Minister of Pacific Island Affairs, Hon Peseta Sam Lotu-I'iga, in Auckland, New Zealand.
According to Lotu-l'iga “This week is about showcasing Tongan culture, pride and most importantly the Tongan language in New Zealand.”
Some of the events organised across New Zealand include Tongan storytelling, Ta’uolunga mo Hiva sessions, cultural displays and evenings.
The Tongan Language Week is being supported and promoted by Aoteroa Tongan Teachers Association, New Zealand’s Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs, the Human Rights Commission and various other Tongan community associations throughout New Zealand.
The theme of Tongan Language Week is “Fakakoloa ‘o Aotearoa ‘aki e kai ‘a e Tonga” (“Enriching Aotearoa with Tongan people’s wisdom”).
