Rev Dr ‘Ahio re-elected FWC President [1]

Rev Dr 'Ahio was re-elected this afternoon Wednesday June 25, as the President of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga during the 91st Free Wesleyan Church Annual Conference in Neiafu, Vava’u.
The FWC Conference re-elected Rev Dr 'Ahio as President with 304 votes. He was first elected in 2009.
Rev Dr Tevita Havea was re-elected as the FWC General Secretary with 305 votes.
The conference, which will be opened tomorrow Thursday June 26, by HM King Tupou VI ends on Monday, June 30.
Rev Dr Havea told Matangi Tonga, this year's conference takes to Neiafu around 2000 church members from throughout Tonga, New Zealand, Australia, United States, Japan, Fiji and Samoa.
Flights
Meanwhile, Tonga’s sole domestic air carrier Real Tonga has increased flights to the outer island for the church conference.
Fakatele Faletau the airline’s Commercial Manager said they were operating between two to three flights per day throughout the conference.
He said this also covered the King’s birthday celebrations and equated to about 140 seats per day.
“The MA60 aircraft is operating the majority of services and we also leased in a Convair to provide back up and additional services to ensure that there were no disruptions to the Vava’u service during this busy period,” he said.
King Tupou VI's birthday will be marked on July 4.
