Investigation continues into rapist robbery [1]

A Police investigation continues into the housebreaking, robbery and rape of a Tongan woman at her home in Sopu in the early morning of Wednesday, June 11.
The Commissioner of Police Grant O’Fee said today they have received positive leads from a few people who had contacted them. The Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) is following up information relating to the suspects.
Police are hunting four to five male suspects who broke into the home and tied up the occupant, a woman in her 40’s who was home alone. One of the men is alleged to have raped the woman during the robbery.
The robbers are alleged to have then fled in a vehicle with stolen items that included $2,000 pa’anga cash, two flat TV screens and liquor bottles.
