Tu’i Vava’u Festival launch tomorrow [1]

The inaugural “Tu’i Vava’u” festival will commence tomorrow Friday 13 June with events to 10 July 2014.

The month long Tui Vava’u festival is the Vava’uan version of the Heilala Festival.

The festival will be initiated with a cocktail reception at the Puataukanave International Hotel in Neiafu on Friday evening. Tomorrow will also see the official opening of the Tu’i Vava’u Festival Rugby and Tennis Tournaments.

A Miss Vava’u Pageant is scheduled for July, as well as a block party in downtown Neiafu, featuring the New Zealand band “3 Houses Down”.

The festival coincides with the annual Free Wesleyan Church Conference to be held in Vava’u from June 24-30.

June 13: Launch Tu’i Vava’u Festival Cocktail Reception.

June 13: Official opening of the Tu’i Vava’u Festival Rugby and Tennis tournament.

June 23 –28: Tu’i Vava’u Festival Youth Week.

June 30 – July 5: Miss Vava’u Pageant.

July 4: Cocktail Reception and Ball.

July 5: Float Parade

July 5: Block Party
