Slight drop in fuel price for Tonga [1]

The price of petroleum for Tonga for April-May has dropped by a few seniti, effective from 16 April, according to the Tonga Competent Authority.

The new retail prices for Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene, including the Consumption Tax are:

  • Petrol $2.88 per liter, a 1.71 seniti reduction.
  • Diesel $2.92 per liter, a 4.1 seniti reduction.
  • Kerosene $2.29 per liter, a 5.49 seniti reduction.

The slight drop in the prices of these petroleum products, according to TCA, was due to an appreciation in the value of the Tongan Pa'anga and a reduction in the Means of Platts Singapore MOPS benchmark prices.
