A charity campaign “Donate 21” is currently underway in Australia to raise money for a young Tongan woman, Viola Kavapele Maka 24 from Lapaha, Tongatapu who has a life threatening heart condition.

Viola Maka was diagnosed in Australia for a serious heart condition and cannot get her required surgery in Tonga.

According to her cardiologist she suffers from severe valvular heart disease and requires urgent surgery, estimated to be between $50,000 and $100,000 Australian Dollars. 

Donate 21 charity worker, Kennedy Tau stated “A medical treatment has been granted, but she is not entitled to MediCare and does not have any insurance. Without help and generous donations, Viola could lose her life, a life that could have been saved if she was born in the United Kingdom, America or Australia.”

Australian Pacific Islander celebrities such as UFC fighter Mark Hunt and beauty model Diamond Langi have already answered the call.
