Pacific journalists visit China [1]

Senior Pacific Islands Journalists are on an Invitation Program to China from December 11-15, aimed to deepen their understanding of policies, developments and technological advancements made in China over recent years.
The 12 journalists visited Beijing, followed by Shenzhen and Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province.
In Beijing journalists held discussion on China’s policies and increasing presence in the Pacific region, with Xu Xueyuan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of North American and Oceania Affairs at its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They also visited the Beijing Exhibition Center which showcased the country’s recent achievements in various areas from poverty alleviation, defence, education and technology, with a visit to CCTV.
In Shenzhen, journalists visited UBTECH Robotics Corporation, a global humanoid robotic company that have developed consumer humanoid robots, robots for business and other breakthroughs. While viewing the latest medical imaging, patient monitoring and life support equipment and systems at Mindray, one of the global providers of medical devices and solutions.
In Guangzhou they are to visit a Fishery Germplasm Conservation and Newsgd which is a premier online source of Guangdong news aimed to expose more about how this city is advancing in these two areas.

Invited journalists are Makereta Komaidrue Manager PINA, Sanju Prasad the Deputy Chief Sub-Editor at Fiji Times, Ashna Kumar Senior News Journalist at Fiji Sun, Lancelot Polu of Talamua Media, Epati Tamati Senior Radio and TV Presenter TV1 Samoa, Jayson Ernest from the Pohnpei State Radio of the Federated States of Micronesia, Kenmore Salvador, Deputy Assistant Secretary and Information Research Specialist FSM Department of Foreign Affairs, Merilyn Katam PNG’s EMTC News reporter and anchor, Todagia Kelola Editor of PNG Post Courier newspaper, Gorethy Kenneth a journalist from Post Courier with ‘Anasiu Falekaono and Linny Folau from Tonga.
