Tonga Police Remembrance Day [1]

Police Remembrance Day honouring police officers who passed away over the past year was held at the Tonga Police Headquarters in Longolongo on September 29.
Two retired police officers, the late Assistant Superintendent Sateki Tu’anaki Langi and Sergeant Laukau Saafi, were remembered
Minister of Police Mateni Tapueluelu said this was also a day to pay their respects to serving police officers who continue to put themselves in harm’s way to execute their oath of office.
“I take this opportunity thank the families for the many sacrifices they have made in order for the men and women of Tonga Police to continue serving the people of the Kingdom of Tonga.”
Fallen police officers from around the region, who have made the sacrifice doing their duty were also remembered, including Senior Constable Brett Andrew Forte from the Queensland Police, Constable Glen Jimmy and Constable Alex Kopa from the Royal Papua New Guinea police.
The Police Remembrance Day was also observed across the Pacific.
Tonga Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell attended the event with families.
