Accused teacher to appear in Supreme Court [1]

Primary school teacher Tevita Po’ese Mahe (24) appeared at the Magistrate’s Court in Nuku’alofa on Monday, 28 September on multiple charges including indecently assaulting six young male students. The case was adjourned to 26 October for submission to the Supreme Court.
The accused appeared before Chief Magistrate Folau Lokotui.
The accused who resides in Nakolo and teaches at a Government Primary School in the Nuku’alofa district, is charged with six counts of assault and indecent assault of six young male students aged 11 years, on 14 September in Tongatapu.
The police arrested him on 18 September and he was released on bail upon conditions on 21 September to appear at the lower court.
