LEGAL CLERK
Purpose:
The Clerk is under the direction of Chief Legal officer and is responsible for all correspondence that flows in/out of the Unit in ensuring proper recording, filing, storage and delivering. The Clerk will create and maintain a case system for all matters dealt with by the Legal Unit.
Furthermore, the Clerk is to act as Secretariat for the Police Board in disciplinary matters.
The Clerk is to also provide translations in writing and orally for the Legal Unit and Police Board in a manner that is efficient, accurate and on time.
Core Competencies
Must demonstrate all core competencies in the Tonga Police Core Competency Framework up to and including Level 2: SERGEANT
Qualifications and Experiences required.
Either/or:
- Relevant Diploma Level 5/6 TNQAB framework + up to 3 years relevant work experience.
- Relevant Certificate level 4/trade/technical qualification + 3 years relevant work experience.
- Current Tonga Public Service employee with 5 years’ experience in a similar role (meeting other core competency and experience requirements specified in the position description + PMS scores of 3 or above for the past 2 consecutive years).
Salary Band – Band M ($15,120 - $22,680)
