The National Retirement Benefits Fund & Social Welfare Scheme would like to invite suitable candidates to apply for the vacant positions of Accountant and Superannuation Officer Grade 3. These roles are for candidates who are honest, reliable, committed, innovative, self-driven and are able to work well in a team at all times. POSITION: ACCOUNTANT

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing the weekly cash flow projections for the benefits payment
  • Responsible for ordering and collecting goods under the Finance Team
  • Responsible for arranging staff travels to/from overseas and Outer Islands
  • Ensure that the monthly utility bills are paid accordingly
  • Maintain and updated Salary and Cheque Registers
  • Maintain an updated and secured file for expenditure vouchers
  • Maintain good relationships with the suppliers
  • Manage the expenditure votes and update the system regularly for both Social Welfare and Fund operations
  • Ensure that all requests for payment are authorized/approved and supported with appropriate evidences before processing
  • Monitor the progress of SWS monthly reports for all stations and ensure that all unclaimed monies are reported and deposited accordingly
  • Input all expenditure vouchers to the MYOB system
  • Prepare and distribute the Fund payrolls, pay slips, and generalize BSP disk-pay
  • Prepare and distribute the Board allowances
  • Prepare the vouchers for benefits and other payments
  • Ensure PAYE and its related requirements are met
  • Assist in bank reconciliations
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and Finance Manager.

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field from a TNQAB accredited tertiary institution. A good computer literacy, good public relations, organizational and planning skills, good presentation and report writing skills are desirable including fluent in both English and Tongan language, both verbal and in writing.

Remuneration:

There is an attractive remuneration package commensurate with qualification and experience for the successful candidate.

POSITION: SUPERANNUATION OFFICER GRADE 3

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • In his/her assigned portfolio:
    • Ensure all employers and their employees registration received are registered.
    • Ensure that members' file are complete and are properly updated and maintained.
    • Ensure that Employers and Employees’ contributions are properly checked, receipted, recorded and reconciled on timely basis to the Fund Management System (FMS)
    • Ensure that Employers and Employees’ Statement of Accounts are accurately and completely recorded in the FMS.
  • Produce monthly reports on members’ contributions for reconciliation.
  • Timely posting of Employer & Employee contributions into the FMS.
  • Provide quality member services through the phone and meeting the members.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all members and employers.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and Operations Manager.

Qualification and Experience:

A minimum qualification of a Diploma in any of the following areas - Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Computer Studies, from a TNQAB accredited tertiary institution or a Certificate in the same areas. Years of relevant working experience, a Certificate or Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation) are desirable and should have good computer literacy and good communication skills in the English and Tongan language, both verbal and in writing.
