VACANCY: WOMENS STRENGTH & CONDITIONING LEAD

This position is funded by the Australian Government Womens Sport Administration and Pathways Programme. This position is for female candidates only

Tonga Rugby Union is seeking to fill the position within Tonga Rugby to facilitate the work of the Union according with the TRU Strategic Plan and annual operational objectives.

The Womens’ Strength & Conditioning Lead key responsibility is to oversee, coordinate and implement an effective plan for the physical development of Tongan female rugby players – senior and junior.

The successful applicant will need to exhibit a high level of energy, conditioning and determination to support the development of comprehensive Strength & Conditioning and health programmes in Tonga and with Tongan female rugby players around the world.

It is important to note that this position requires the successful applicant to be able to have the physical ability to demonstrate multiple techniques in the area of physical conditioning.

Essential:

  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Logistical and Organisational skills.
  • Long and short term training planning experience.
  • Broad understanding of exercise technique and programming.
  • Coaching and teaching ability.
  • Be able to promote & provide a safe space for Women & Girls to participate in all aspects of rugby.

Competencies:

  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports essential.
  • Communicates effectively. A working knowledge of the Tongan language essential.
  • Utilises computer technology effectively.

Renumeration package will be commensurate with level of education and experience. Opportunities for education and up-skilling are provided within the package for this position.
