INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
CONCESSION FOR THE STEVEDORING SERVICES
AT THE PORT OF NUKU’ALOFA
The Ports Authority Tonga (PAT), as the Contracting Party, is launching a two-stage international competitive tender for an integrated stevedoring services exclusive concession at the Port of Nuku’alofa for a period of 10 years.
Experienced, Tongan-owned firms are invited to submit expressions of interest (EoIs) for this future concession contract which will include ship to shore, marshalling, cargo storage, unpacking of containers and receival and delivery services at the port.
Nuku’alofa port provides international designated wharves at the Queen Salote International Wharf (QSIW) located at the north eastern extremity of the port precinct. The QSIW provides two international container vessel berths with lengths of 93 m and 110 m and minimum depths of approximately 10 and 11 m. The total international terminal area, including wharf aprons is approx. 32,000m2 and provides space for container storage, cargo unpacking sheds, reefer power areas, plant equipment engineering workshop and refuelling bay and terminal gate access.

Interested bidders have until 15 April 2019 at 4pm Tonga time to submit their EOIs.
The Asian Development Bank, through the Private Sector Development Initiative, is assisting PAT in the implementation of this tender.
CONDITION FOR PARTICIPATION
This call for expression of interest is addressed to applicants, acting alone or in a group, who meet the conditions set out in the pre-selection documentation.
The pre-qualification requirements include requirements relating to the technical and financial capacity of the candidates.
Successful pre-qualified candidates will be invited, in a second stage, to submit full binding proposals for the provision of the stevedoring services. Tender documents are expected to be released before June 1 2019.
