    : The completion of a Solar Electrification project in Vava’u and Ha’apai, was celebrated on Monday with a ground-breaking ceremony in the village of Koloa in Vava’u. The project has seen the installation of solar powered water pumps and deep freezers in remote communities in Ha’apai and Vava’u. The project’s aim is to establish the use of renewable energy powered facilities.

    : Under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the United States took another major step toward establishing itself as a rogue state on June 1, when it withdrew from the Paris climate agreement. For years, Trump has indulged the strange conspiracy theory that, as he put it in 2012, “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive.” But this was not the reason Trump advanced for withdrawing the US from the Paris accord.     : The Flying Fijians narrowly defeated the ‘Ikale Tahi 14 – 10 today in a hard fought match at Teufaiva Stadium. The ‘Ikale Tahi crossed the Fijian try line in extra-time to an uproarious crowd, but jubliation was short-lived as the referee disallowed the try and ordered a 5 metre scrum to Fiji.
