On New Year's Eve in a land where time begins, Tongans are welcoming in 2010 quietly. As midnight approaches there's a brass band playing a hymn somewhere nearby in the capital, with a sombre tone that sounds more like a funeral dirge. Tonga's Sia'atoutai Theological College witnessed a special ceremony on July 15 as the ashes of a former principal, the late Rev. Ronald Archibald William Woodgate and his wife Ruth Elizabeth Woodgate were buried in a memorial in the college grounds.
