A 21-year-old man of Tongan descent, James Afuakimoana Tamoua, has been arrested follwing an armed robbery and police chase in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday. The accused along with a 15-year-old boy are accused of robbing a shop and holding up the store clerk at gunpoint.

A head-on collision at Veitongo early this morning has claimed the lives of two men, a 30-year-old man from Halaleva and a 28-year-old man from Ha'akame. The fatlities raise Tonga's road toll to 18 lives lost for 2016, and Police say they are attending too many serious crashes that are avoidable.
