Tonga will host the the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meetings from 26 - 30 August, 2024 in Nuku'alofa, with the theme "Transformative Resilient Pasifiki; Build Better Now." Last night, HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala unveiled the Government's chosen theme and logo at a special launch event attended by the Forum Secretary General Mr Henry Puna, at the Fa'onelua Convention Center, in Nuku'alofa.

The Government plans to build 200d prefab and container houses for the Pacific Forum leaders meeting in August, as accommodation falls short, the Prime Minister Hon. Hu'akavameiliku told a media briefing on 4 April, at St. George Building, Nuku'alofa.

Summing up the Pacific Leaders meeting earlier this month in Rarotonga, Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku said the meeting reassured the Pacific leaders commitment to its 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific continent, and also allowed leaders to be in one mind, especially for the upcoming COP28.
