A judgement over the legitimacy of the succession by Lord Fielakepa to the hereditary title Fielakepa will be delivered on Friday, 4 December after he was challenged in a land case brought by his nephew, Tupou Tongaliuaki Aleamotu’a, at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

A young man, whose family believes is the rightful heir to the Fielakepa title and estate, began his legal challenge in the Nuku’alofa Supreme Court today, against his uncle – the head of Tonga’s armed forces - who was given the Fielakepa title by King Tupou VI in April this year.

The Tongan Privy Council on Friday March 20 made three new government appointments, effective from March 23, in a cabinet shake-up which followed the arrest of a Minister. The appointments follow the resignation of the Minister of Lands, Survey and Natural Resources, and Governor of Ha‘apai, Fakafanua, who was on bail and facing either criminal charges of fraudulent conversion, extortion and accepting bribes.
