Mate Ma'a Tonga will play their first test series in England this year. England Rugby League has confirmed they will host Tonga in three tests in St Helens on October 22, Huddersfield on October 28 and Leeds on November 4. The test series will be the first in which England has hosted a Pacific nation.

England have defeated Mate Ma'a Tonga 20 – 18, surviving Tonga's dramatic comeback in a thrilling semi-final played in Auckland, New Zealand tonight. The game ended controversially after the referee failed to spot a one-on-one strip penalty by England in the dying seconds of the game with Tonga only meters away from the English try line.
