More than 400 military personnel have travelled from Commonwealth nations and British Overseas Territories to participate on Saturday 6 March in the historic Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. From Tonga, Corporal Uheina Halapiapi, of His Majesty’s Armed Forces Tonga said: “I am so grateful to be here and to represent his Majesty’s Armed Forces of Tonga”.

Visitors to Tonga's Coronation celebrations this week were treated to traditional entertainment at Pangai Lahi this afternoon. The day began with a seaside luncheon hosted by nobles and attended by the Royal Family, the sun came out for the dancing and the day ended with a rainbow.

The coronation celebrations of HM King George Tupou V finally ended with a Royal picnic on Nuku Island, Vava'u, on August 21. The celebration officially has taken 22 days, from the start in Nuku'alofa on August 1 until August 22 when the king left the Lupepau'u Airport , Vava'u to return to Tongatapu. About 10,000 dancers, students from government primary schools, gathered at the Teufaiva Stadium this morning for a mass performance of dances on Education Day in celebration of King George Tupou V's Coronation.
