A new partnership in financial intelligence has been formed between the National Reserve Bank of Tonga and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre, to help detect illicit financial activity.

Hydrographic equipment was presented to His Majesty’s Armed Forces, by Hon. Pat Conroy, under Australia’s Defence partnership with Tonga on 8 December.

This week South Pacific Defence Ministers and senior military leaders came together in Tonga for what was a vital meeting. On her first visit back to Tonga after three-years, Tonga’s High Commissioner to Australia, Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho and the Mayor of Gunnedah, (a town in New South Wales, Australia) Mr Jamie Chaffey and delegation visited Kolomotu’a village this week. The towns have formed a "sister-city" bond.

The Dental Division of the Ministry of Health has received a 40ft container fitted with air conditioning and shelves for storing supplies of personal protective equipment. The container was donated by the Rotary Club of Ballarat West, Melbourne in Australia.
