Results for ‘Ikale Tahi

Tonga's national rugby team the ‘Ikale Tahi will meet the Flying Fijians in Tokyo, Japan this Sunday 23 June, in the final stage of the Pacific Nations Cup.

I had the priviledge to be at Teufaiva to watch the last IT v Manu Samoa match on 19th August. I cannot hold my tears when I saw the men in red putting their hands on the seal and their heart when the 'Otua Mafimafi was played. These fine young men showed their love for their king and country and played their hearts out in the true spirit of the game. Unfortunately they did not produce the results that every Tongan expected but they demonstrated what it takes to restore the pride of Tongan rugby, mateaki and 'ofa fonua.

The Manu Samoa starting line up to play against the ‘Ikale Tahi at Teufaiva Stadium on Friday 22 July 2005 have been announced.

The Fijians took control of the game in the first half, and scored three tries, all from typical Fijian background movements, which enabled speedy Fijian players to break through the Tongan defence and score.

The 'Ikale Tahi Squad for 2005 was announced on Saturday night following a final trial game at Teufaiva Stadium, Nuku'alofa in the afternoon.

Eighteen local Tongan rugby players and 12 from abroad grabbed the ‘Ikale Tahi Jersey when Tonga's national Rugby team was announced by new coach, Viliami ‘‘Ofahengaue, on May 5.
