Tonga U20 Soccer Girls beat Vanuatu 4 – 0 [1]

Tonga’s Under-20 Girl’s Football team defeated Vanuatu 4 - 0 at the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) U20 Women’s Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand last Saturday February 22.
Tonga’s points were scored by 'Unaloto Tahitu'a, 'Ilisapeti Malekamu and a double by Malia Tongia.
The game was Tonga’s last at the tournament. Tonga lost its two previous matches to PNG 4 – 0 and New Zealand 3 – 1.
The win puts Tonga in third place with Vanuatu taking the wooden spoon. New Zealand defeated PNG in the final that same day 3 – 0 to win the tournament and qualify for the Women's U20 Football World Cup to be held later this year. Tonga was the only team in the competition to score a point against New Zealand.
Tongan goalkeeper Ma’afu Tangimausia was given the “Golden Gloves” award in recognition of her impressive goal keeping performance against New Zealand.
