Former Attorney General takes action against Government of Tonga [1]

The Supreme Court in Nuku’alofa will hear three Causes of Action filed by John Cauchi, Tonga’s former Attorney General, against the Government of Tonga on November 19-21, 2013.
Cauchi an Australian is claiming over AUD$500,000 in special damages and relief for Breach of Contract, Repudiation of Contract and Constructive Dismissal.
He became Tonga's first independent Attorney General after signing a Contract of Employment with the Government of Tonga on 26 May 2009 when he was appointed to the position for a three-years term.
However, he announced his resignation as Tonga's Attorney General on 30 April 2010.
The three-day trial will be presided over by the Chief Justice Hon. Michael Dishington Scott.
