Re: The march is over, what's next?
Dear Editor,
The rating of THRDM 8 and the PDP 0 is an interesting summary for the first round when we must accept that it is the opinion of one who lives in Auckland, but please consider these thoughts:
In the pre-election 2005 campaign was it not Clive Edwards who focused on the issues such as Shoreline and the Consumption Tax, who is now a member of the PDP? Where was the voice of the THRDM in regards to this issue, especially Fred Sevele's once the announcement in November 2004 that two new Ministers were to be appointed?
The THRDM pre-election campaign did not deal with the issues, instead they focused on a negative campaign against people such as Clive Edwards.
On March 14 Alani Taione and Semisi Tapueluelu, who are members of the PDP, organised and marched to the Royal Palace to submit a petition and to the courts where a writ was filed by Clive Edwards - over 2 months before the THRDM march.
Looking at the motions brought before parliament on its first day, please analyze the votes and what does that suggest? Sure it may be early days and I might be reading into it too much, but doesn't the voting indicate a split within the People's Representatives - already.
