Tonga's 'Ikale Tahi have added a second win to their 2013 Pacific Nations Cup campaign after defeating the United States 18- 9 on Saturday June 15 in Carson City, California.
Centre Sione Piukala ran in the only two tries of the game and Fly-half Viliami Hakalo successfully kicked two penalty goals. The 'Ikale Tahi were ahead of the United States throughout the entire match with a tryless team USA failing to comeback from a 10- 9 halftime score-line.
The win is a much needed morale booster after a disappointing loss to Canada in a game which was marred by Tongan lack of discipline. It resulted in the suspension of three 'Ikale Tahi players full-back David Halaifonua, prop Eddie 'Aholelei and centre Siale Piutau.
