Tonga petrol prices rise on 18 February [1]

Tonga's prices for Diesel, Kerosene and Petrol for February-March 2013, effective today 18 February, have increased compared to the prices approved by the Competent Authority for the previous month.
In a statement the Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Labour reported that the retail price of Petrol has increased by 5.49 Seniti since January, from $2.79 to $2.84 (1.97% increase), Diesel increased by 4.89 seniti per litre, from $2.88 to $2.93 (1.70% increase) and Kerosene increased by 4.50 seniti per litre, from $2.27 to $2.32seniti per litre (1.97% increase), for the same period, with all changes including consumption tax.
This sharp increase is a jump from a positive January where fuel prices had decreased.
Wholesale prices for Petrol increased by 5.49 seniti per litre ($2.68), Diesel increased by 4.88 seniti per litre ($2.77) and Kerosene by 4.50 seniti per litre ($2.19).
