Tropical Cyclone alert cancelled [1]

A Tropical Cyclone Alert that was previously in force for Vava'u and Ha'apai is now cancelled, but a strong wind warning is still in force for the rest of Tonga.
According to the Fua'amotu Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre at noon today, tropical depression 08F centre was located about 50km north of Lifuka at 10:00pm this morning.
The threat of a tropical cyclone developing in the next 24-48 hours has been downgraded to moderate. Damaging gale force winds are not expected to directly affect Tonga.
Meanwhile heavy rainfall remains in force for Niuafo'ou, Niuatoputapu and Vava'u.
