Parliamentary Committee resumes Public Consultation on 19 January [1]

The Committee which finished its public consultations to Tongatapu last December will make a public consultation visit to ‘Eua on 19 January before traveling to Ha’apai, and Vava’u on the 26 January.
The Acting Clerk of the House, Dr Sione Vikilani said that the members of the committee who will be available for the visit to 'Eua, Ha'apai and Vava'u is yet to be confirmed, because of other urgent commitments.
The members of the House's Standing Committee on Legislation are: Lord Fakafanua, Lord Tu'iha'ateiho, Lord Tu'i'afitu, Hon. Samiu Vaipulu (Chairman), Hon. Dr 'Ana Taufe'ulungaki, Hon. William Clive Edwards, 'Isileli Pulu, Sione Havea Taione, Semisi Tapueluelu and Siosifa Tu'utafaiva.
Dr Vikilani said that by the end of January, the committee will start compiling a report of their consultations to be presented to parliament.
A date for when the 2013 Parliamentary Session will start is yet to be confirmed.
The six Bills for public consultation are:
1. A Good Governance Commission Bill 2012.
2. A Commissioner for Public Relations (amendment) Bill 2012.
3. An Anti-Corruption Commission (Amendment) Bill 2012.
4. A Legal Aid Bill 2012.
