Princess Latufuipeka visits Women's Affairs [1]

HRH Princess Latufuipeka Tonga's High Commissioner to Australia, was in Nuku'alofa today and visited the Women's Affairs Division, on a fact finding mission to see how she might assist in the development of women's group in Tonga.
'Ofa Masila an Assistant Secretary said one of their roles is to secure funding from donors to support women groups projects and training. One of the challenges these small women groups face, is securing markets to sell their products.
"There are local activities that women groups join to display their work but we rely on assistance to carry out local trainings and other programs to develop and support women," she said.
Falekava Kupu, a First Secretary at Tonga's High Commissioner to Australia, said they were looking at areas they might assist with since they regularly meet donor partners in Canberra.
The Tonga Handicrafts Association women were present at the special meeting to showcase their handicrafts.
Princess Latufuipeka is understood to be visiting selected government ministries, private sector organisations and agencies on the same agenda.
She became Tonga's second High Commissioner to Australia in August this year.
