Four charged with armed hold-up of bank [1]

Four men who are charged in relation to an armed hold-up and robbery at the Westpac Bank of Tonga, Ma'ufanga branch, are to appear at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court on March 30.
Peau Faletau, Sefo Moala, Taufo'ou Fale'ofa and Sione Lamipeti appeared before Magistrate Similoni Tu'akalau at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court on February 29, and had their case submitted to the Supreme Court for trial, where they will enter their pleas on March30
The defendants are charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery committed on September 5, 2011.
Police Prosecutor Mema Latu said the police alleged that up to $30,000 pa'anga was stolen from the bank in the hold-up.
