Lord Tu'iha'ateiho inquiry on firearm charge set for March 28 [1]

Lord Tu'iha'ateiho will appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court on March 28 for a preliminary inquiry on a charge of unlawful possession of an automatic pistol without a licence.
Tu'iha'ateiho, a Ha'apai Noble's Representative to the Tongan parliament was charged in 2010 after an automatic pistol was found by police in the possession of an escaped prisoner, who said that he stole the firearm from the noble's home at Veitongo.
His first court appearance was in December 2010. He also appeared before Magistrate Similoni Tu'akalau in open court on January 23, represented by Sifa Tu'utafaiva.
The preliminary inquiry set for March 28, 2012, was set in closed chambers on February 6.
