Noble pleads not guilty to stabbing young man [1]

A parliamentarian, Noble Tangipa is appearing at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court this week charged with the offence of causing grievous bodily harm in a stabbing incident committed in July 2008.
The jury trial held at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court was told that the noble is accused of stabbing a young man, Gerhard Sanft, with a knife at the Hotel Nuku'alofa in central Nuku'alofa around midnight on July 12, 2008.
The noble who pleaded not guilty to the offence was represented by Clive Edwards while the Crown was represented by the Solicitor General 'Aminiasi Kefu.
The jury trial expected to run for the remainder of this week is presided over by Chief Justice Anthony Ford.
Noble Tangipa is the Noble's Representative for Niuas to the Tonga Legislative Assembly.
