Three Houses Down brings Roots Reggae to Nuku'alofa [1]

The 2010 Heilala Block Party will be a night to remember. New Zealand's very own "Three Houses Down" will be landing in the Kingdom Wednesday 14th July 2010 as part of their "Keep your Culture Tour" supported by Mr Alfred 'Aholelei aka DJ AlGoodie. Tour organisers Radio Nuku'alofa 88.6 FM and Kaimai Burgers have collaborated for the band to perform a free concert at the Heilala Block Party Friday 16th July 2010.
Three Houses Down, a unique roots reggae band formed in 2004 is a 10 member band including Robert Pomee, Ben Tapueluelu, Sione Pomee, Saia Manu, Lisiate Langi, Charlie Pomee, Liva Tapueluelu, Josh Iopu, Tonga Vaea and Matt Auva'a. Eight members of the band are Tongan and have a very close connection to the Kingdom of Tonga.
Three Houses Down will also visit schools and conduct Tupu'anga School Assemblies in partnership with 88.6FM Radio Nuku'alofa and Not-for-Profit NZ based social services organisation Affirming Works NZ: which specialises in youth development and youth at risk management. Founder of Affirming Works Emeline Afeaki-Mafile'o and eight mentors from NZ will also be in Tonga during Heilala to voluntarily provide support and services during this part of the tour.
Three Houses Down recently received two top awards at the 2010 New Zealand S3 Pacific Music Awards taking home the coveted Tui for the S3 Best Pacific Music Album' Break Out' and the APRA Best Pacific Song Award for the single 'Kanikapila'. JKCA, 22/06/10.
