When will we ever learn [1]

Editor,
I was told by an inmate in San Quentin Penitentiary in California many years ago that the ideal job would be, "first; where there is less to do, more time to do it, and getting more pay for not getting it done, second; someone is hired to be blamed for mistakes made and third; being fired really means being promoted to a higher position in another job with more pay."
It appears that Mr. 'Ahongalu Fusimalohi a former FIFA executive committee members banned in a World Cup bidding scheme has got his ideal job. While his appeal is still pending, the Prime Minister took him in as a Special Adviser (media and relation), and TASA promoted him as its Chef De Mission for the London Olympic Games next year in London.
In the United States I fully understand the democratic system where one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in this case, it is no difference from telling a criminal, "you have been found guilty of sexual harassment, but while your appeal is pending, we are promoting you to be the principal of an all girls High School."
This abortion is most embarrassing coming from a country that brags of having the most educated population per capita in the Pacific if not in the world.
Our choice tells a lot about who we are.
When will we ever learn?
