Tonga wins 20 medals in 14th Pacific Games [1]

Tonga, has done well at the end of the 14th Pacific Games in Noumea in New Caledonia securing 7th place in the overall medal tally, with 20 medals that included four gold, six silver and 10 bronze medals.
Chef de Mission 'Amanaki Fakakovikaetau reported from New Caledonia on September 11, that 'Ana Po'uhila won the fourth gold medal on the last day of the tournament. 'Ana won gold in the women's shot put with a distance of 15.78m.
The third gold for Tonga was won by weightlifter 'Ilaniume Finau.
Tongan bodybuilders Sitaniselao Tautalanoa and Mateo Vaihu won two gold medals in bodybuilding.
The six silver medals were won in swimming by 'Amini Fonua (two), by weightlifter 'Ilaniume Finau (two), in taekwondo by Sosefo Falekaono and in women's discus 'Ana Po'uhila.
Of the 10 bronze medals, bodybuilder Mateo Vaihu won one, with two for swimmer 'Ifalemi Paea, two for woman weightlifter Fakaola Tu'ipulotu, two for boxers Sosefo Falekaono and Semisi Kau and one for Lars Fa'apoi in hammer throw.
'Amanaki said that Tonga's women football team lost their bronze medal game against Fiji 1-0. Papua New Guinea won the gold and New Caledonia won silver.
Tonga competed in 15 sports events at the 2011 Pacific Games in with about 130 members of the team and management.
