The former Ambassador Night Club complex was reopened on Saturday December 11, under new ownership.
The President of Trans Pacific Ltd., David Prescott said that the opening of the bar on Saturday night was the first step in getting the complex back into operation. He said that the adjacent restaurant, the former Love Boat has been renamed the "Island Hut Steakhouse" and will open for business on December 15, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. David said that his chief chef, Vinot Kumar, has produced a menu based on local food, but later they will incorporate American dishes, after some of his staff return from some training in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
The opening of the Ambassador Bar on Saturday also marked the launching of the Vailima Beer, the beer of Samoa, into the Tongan beer drinking market. David said that Trans Pacific Ltd is the authorised distributor of Vailima in Tonga.
Since the opening of the Bar on Saturday, David said that the night club area had been booked for Christmas parties almost every until Christmas, so he is in no hurry to re-open the night club, he would rather just run the bar and let out the night club area for private functions.
