MV Princess Ashika arrives in Nuku'alofa [1]

MV Princess Ashika, the replacement ferry for the inter-island passenger MV Olovaha arrived in Nuku'alofa on July 1 from Fiji and will be ready to set sail tomorrow, Friday, July 3.
The Managing Director of the Shipping Corporation of Polynesia Ltd., John Jonesse said the MV Princess Ashika would begin servicing the outer islands on Friday and ferrying people to the outer islands, including those who attended the FWC Conference that concludes today, June 2.
In the last few weeks the MV Olovaha has been busy ferrying people from the outer islands to the capital for the FWC Church Conference. In the meantime, no final decision has made on the future of the 26-year-old vessel, said John.
MV Princess Ashika a second hand ferry, was built in Japan and had been operating in Fiji for many years.
