Cool days for Tonga [1]

A cool southeast wind over Tonga has brought cool moderate temperatures with the temperature dropping to a comparatively "chilly" 13.9 degrees at Fua'amotu on Tongatapu last night, June 21, one of the shortest days of the year.
The weather centre expects more cool weather for the rest of the cool-dry season.
Since April this year Tonga has been experiencing some cool and cold days, with temperature going down to as low as 12.1 degrees Celsius and more cold days forecast to come.
The coldest day so far this year, was recorded on April 17 in 'Eua with a temperature of 12.1 C. The coldest in Fua'amotu was recorded on June 8 with 12.6 C and Vava'u at 15 C recorded in May.
Ha'apai's coldest day was in April with 17.3 C. The Niuas lowest this year was between 19-20 C.
The Climate Officer for Tonga's Meteorological Centre in Fua'amotu, Selu Finaulahi said today the cool temperatures we are experiencing are normal during the Cool-Dry season, which currently runs until September.
The national lowest temperature ever recorded was 8.7 degrees recorded at Fua'amotu in September 1994, Selu confirmed.
