Two new Government Ministers are expected to be appointed this week to the portfolios of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Forestry, and the Ministry of Information and Communication.
The Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office confirmed today, the appointment of the two Ministers would take place on Thursday, April 30.
The names of the two new Ministers have not been released by Government.
But it is largely speculated that Prince Tu'ipelehake will become the Minister of Agriculture, while the former Chief Secretary and Secretary to Cabinet 'Eseta Fusitu'a will become the new Minister Information and Communication.
This leaves two Ministerial portfolios vacant, which are the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence, and the Minister of Police.
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence, Hon Tu'a Taumoepeau Tupou, and the former Minister of Police Hon Siaosi 'Aho have been recently appointed to diplomatic posts overseas. Tu'a as Tonga's Resident Representative to the United Nations in New York and Siaosi 'Aho as Tonga's new High Commissioner in Wellington, New Zealand.
