Man charged with attempted murder in 'Eua [1]

A 42-year-old man in Tongamama'o, 'Eua, has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife who remains in a critical condition in hospital, according to the Commander of the Tonga Police Force Chris Kelley today.
In his weekly Police Crime Report with Deputy Commander Taniela Faletau he confirmed, that the accused had also been charged with causing grevious bodily harm.
The man was arrested following an incident that took place on Monday, March 9 at Tongamama'o where he allegedly used a knife on his wife.
They also confirmed that the victim was immediately flown down to Tongatapu for medical treatment where she remained in a critical condition at Vaiola Hospital, Tofoa.
The accused who is in police custody will appear before the 'Eua Magistrate's Court on March 23.
