A new low-carb beer was introduced to the top end of the Tongan beer drinking market with a launching at the Janfull International Dateline Hotel on Thursday night, September 11.
Molisi Tonga Supermarket, the agent for Pure Blonde hosted the event, attended by the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr Feleti Sevele, the Chinese Ambassador to Tonga, HE Mr Hu Yeshun and his wife Mrs Yan Liru, and the Minister for Transport and Civil Aviation, Hon. Paul Karalus.
Molisi Tonga is a family business of the Prime Minister, which has been managed by his daughter, Maliana, and her husband Tevita Tohi since Dr Feleti Sevele was appointed as a Cabinet Minister in 2005.
Tevita said the new Australian beer is popular because although it is a full strength beer "it has 70 percent less carbohydrates than a regular one". It is manufactured by the Foster's Group in Melbourne.
