Luisa Tae Kami Jr., the remarkable 15-year-old girl who captured the hearts of everyone she met during her courageous three years battle with cancer, passed away at her home in on Kolomotu'a on Saturday, August 16.
Tae died in her sleep at 11:40pm surrounded by her parents Taholo and Sina Kami and family.
Despite a painful journey with cancer and undergoing numerous rounds of surgery in New Zealand, Tae's enduring faith and will to fight on was an inspiration for all.
In her own words posted on her website, the Tae Kami Medical Fund she said, "cancer's been a blessing in disguise despite the pain of it all, I've learned some really important things, met so many wonderful people and have become a much better person because of it. I don't regret a thing and I feel so blessed despite my suffering. I know that if anything does happen to me, I'll be alright because I know where I'll be in the end and I know who holds me."
Tae's funeral will be held on Wednesday August 20 with a wake held at her home from 6am to 1:30pm.
Her life will be celebrated at the Centenary Church, Saione, from 3pm to 5pm, before she is buried at the Telekava cemetery.
