It was a second night of dazzle and glamour at the 2008 Miss Galaxy Queen International Wear and Talent competition last night, Thursday 7, as contestants wowed the audience with fantastic costumes and performances, in the annual cross-dressing pageant.
The nine contestants in the International wear modelled a combination of unique creations from a Japanese silk kimono with a matching umbrella to an Egyptian Queen, a Tahitian hula dancer, a Chinese skin painted swimsuit and a Contemporary Tongan Island creation.
The second night of competition also saw contestants present hilarious "talent" performances including flirtatious crawling and dancing, boxing, a hula dance and a number of musical numbers.
Tonight, Friday August 8, the final, the contestants will be judged on two categories the Ball Gown Wear and Galaxy Wear before the new Miss Galaxy Queen 2008-09 is announced.
Joey Mataele, the founder of the Miss Galaxy Queen pageant said the winner will receive two return tickets Tonga-Los Angeles-Tonga, $1,000 pa'anga cash prize and gift packages.
The first runner up will receive two return tickets Tonga-Sydney-Tonga and $800 pa'anga and the second runner up will receive two return tickets Tonga-Auckland-Tonga and $500 pa'anga cash prize.
The pageant is being held at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall and is enjoyed by a mixture of happy spectators of mums, dads, children and youths, and Galaxy fans.
