Tonga's rural fuel prices increase up to $4.73 a litre [1]

Petroleum prices in Tonga's remote Niuas islands passed the $4 a litre mark, following yesterday's nationwide fuel price rise that added between .20 seniti to .22 per litre on last month's price.
The retail price for a litre of Motor Spirit in Tongatapu is now $3.29, 'Eua $3.34, Ha'apai $3.55, Vava'u $3.35, Niuatoputapu $4.19, and Niuafo'ou $4.25.
The rural areas are also hit by up to .37 seniti per litre increases in the price of Kerosene, which in a month went up from $2.81 per litre to $3.15 per litre in Vava'u; and up from$3.59 per litre to over $4 per litre in the Niuas.
The price hike that was announced by the Competent Authority yesterday on July 1 showed that as you move away from the main island of Tongatapu, the price of fuel goes up.
The retail price for a litre of Diesoline in Tongatapu is $3.72, 'Eua $3.77, Ha'apai $3.98, Vava'u $3.79, Niuatoputapu $4.67, and Niuafo'ou $4.74.
The retail price for a litre of kerosene in Tongatapu is $3.08, 'Eua $3.13, Ha'apai $3.34, Vava'u $3.15, Niuatoputapu, $3.96, and Niuafo'ou $4.02.
