Tonga Red Cross receives donation for equipment [1]

The Australian High Commissioner to Tonga, Dr Bruce Hunt, donated $4,991 pa'anga to the Tonga Red Cross today under its Direct Aid Programme.
The small grants program focussed in promoting social and economic development of community groups and organizations.
In handing over the cheque to the Secretary General of the Tonga Red Cross Sione Taumoefolau, the High Commissioner said he was delighted to assist such a noble oragnisation and their work here is much appreciated.
He said he received the request for financial assistance from the Red Cross in order to purchase a photocopier to disseminate their information to the public, and the Australian High Commission were glad to help.
Australia will continue its support for the work of the Red Cross for the benefit of the people.
