Second bomb threat at Suva hotel [1]

The Public Forum organized by the Pacific Concerns Resource Centre and the Pacific Centre for Public Integrity at the Holiday Inn was cut short today by an anonymous threat.
This follows a similar anonymous threat made to the hotel yesterday.
However, the elections forum organized by the Pacific Concerns Resource Centre and the Pacific Centre for Public Integrity did proceed for several hours before the interruption.
The general view at the Forum was that elections can take place in March 2009.
The Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase told the gathering that there are positive signs already in place that point in this direction.
Ousted Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes said there is no doubt that the elections can be held in March 2009.
General Secretary of the National Federation Party, Pramod Rae said the interim government should honor its commitment to hold elections as promised next year. Fijivillage, 05/02/08.
