New NZ High Commissioner for Tonga [1]

Ms. Christine Bogle, the incoming New Zealand High Commissioner to Tonga, will arrive in Tonga on Monday, January 14 to take up her new position.
Ms Bogle replaces Dr Michael McBryde who left Tonga on January 9 after a four-year posting.
Edward Ablett-Hampson, the New Zealand Deputy High Commissioner, confirmed this morning that Dr McBryde returns to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Wellington where he will take up the position of Deputy Director of the United Nations and Commonwealth Division.
He said Ms Bogle who is in her mid-50's is a career diplomat, and was the Deputy Director of the Australia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade prior to her new appointment.
She has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for 30 years, and has previously served as New Zealand's Ambassador in Madrid, Spain, and has also been posted to Peru in South America and Rome, Italy.
Her appointment was announced by New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters on October 10, 2007.
The new High Commissioner is expected to present her credentials to HM King George V, when he returns to the kingdom later this month.
